spanked by the wifey huh...lol....that's cool that she is willing to partake in such games...plus she must be a decent driver because when i punch the hhrss it wants to pull in different directions with the front wheel drive

Btw do u did down shift ,, i can't believe u couldn't catch her... my 08 viper just explodes above 3k rpm pinning my head against the seat...

My buddy is now speculating that an overagressive traction control routine is hampering the acceleration in his car. Evidently it reduces power, then drags the brakes to eliminate wheel spin. Could explain it with your Z06 also. Bottom line is traction control definitely has a downside for spirited driving. I am not going to name his car, since the fans would have a field day talking about the fool that believes his HHR can out-accelerate their beloved car (even if only for 50 feet).

Sure :). You just let her beat you to preserve marital bliss!

I find it difficult to swallow that the HHR SS beat your Z06, but anything can happen! I know that my Supercharged Mustang (a decent enough race for a 405hp Z06, obviously not the LS7 ones!) would cream my HHR. I get impatient watching the RPM gauge on the SS. In my Mustang, I can't blink in the first 2 gears or else I'll hit the rev limiter.

I didn't say she beat me in a 1/4 mile race with drag tree start, I said I gave her a bit of head start so I could hear the SS, then she was in the torque band and I couldn't catch her before the next time we had to slow down. I would have blown by her by 20 mph had it been a longer distance.

Well, its not the first time she's spanked me, I had to put about $3500 in my 86 Trans Am in 1987 so I could beat her 87 Turbo Buick GN. Doesn't hurt my feelings, its the Dodge Boy Rams that hate to see her with my HHR SS or her Trailblazer SS.
