Automatic Test Drive

I drove an SS automatic last night and was somewhat dissapointed in it's performance. It was the second time it left the lot and only had 6 miles on it so perhaps it needed a little more break in time. I was very impressed with its handling which is very stabe, quick and precise. It was equiped very close to what I want to order and is the correct color, black with the red trimmed interior, however it dosen't have the performance seat option.

Gota remember also that the turbo is limited until you hit 500 miles. I drove an automatic a few weeks ago and thought it had plenty of power.. but I've been driving a Cobalt LS the past few years.

Glad to hear of its nimbleness in handling. That is so much more important than outright speed.
But....

Acceleration is where I'm hoping the turbo thing shows its colors
Remember folks, no faster than 65 if I'm not mistaken is the law of the land. But that which separates the wannabes from the performers is the fun we have getting there.

Sounds like a good package, but I'm still sad they had to under perform the motor to keep the auto from breaking.
Ah well, since handling is more important in my world, I'll still take a test drive.

Yes, I love automatics, I'm so tired of sticks after 30 plus years of city driving. Plus lately I'm thankful I do not have to shift due to a rotator cuff problem in my right arm

Not a great day for a drive, but....

Back in black! Dealer called and agreed to my offer (third call) so I'm taking off at noon and driving up to Inverness to pick it up. My loan is preapproved and the car is sitting back in the showroom ready to go. It's in the 70's but little to no sun for the sunroof so we'll see if it works on a cloudy day.

No, my reply was for the 65 MPH speed limit. It's 70 MPH here.
