They were just jealous or just wanted to watch. Less chance of being caught if she stays all the way down.

Sorry to hear batman. Yours is one of the better HHRs around.

Take it to a shop. You have your numbers for parts. Compare that to the shop price. Go from there. If the shop comes in at $1500. Tell her parents it's $1000 if you don't mind doing the work yourself. However, I would consider pulling the bumper to be sure. Cause there will be parts under there needing replacement.

I had an almost identicle situation happen to me shortly after I bought mine. Thought there was vey little damage. But when the adjuster looked at it she saw much more than my untrained eyes never would have seen, especially behind the bumper; final cost was about $1500. Get a police report, take it to a shop, and turn it in to her insurance. Remember, you have no idea what her driving record may be. Could be a dangerous, young driver that needs something like this on their record to help them learn to be more careful.

The first thing i did is call my ins agent to ask if a police report was needed, It is not.
It is going into the shop for an estimate. Then the balls in there court.

Thanks Gas Man

And everyone for the info and insight .

Glad everything is ok, yes that's the safest thing to do is take it in for inspection. I had something like this happen to me and I done the same thing, tried to help out the parents and young man. Turned out they wanted to argue about 1500.00 and tell me there's no way there sons 2500 pound car could bend my axle and brake my wheel moving in opposite directions. I went ahead and turned it in... Wishing they would have paid it now!

Droped off the $1000.00 estimate in the girls mailbox sat . Talked to the girls parents tonite , They thanked me for going the rout that i have, And said a check will be sent to me tomarrow, Well , I'll have to wait and see if thats the case.
I would not have been able to get a new bumper going threw her insu. It would have been a repair. $250.00-$300.00 Huummm ?
