Nah, I bet GM removed them from the SS to shave the .25 lbs they weigh and gain .001243357 in the 1/4 mile lol.

I'm a little puzzled . Where is the ECM without the cover located under the hood on the SS? I read this thread yesterday and looked for an electrical interconnection and could not locate one under the hood in plain sight other than the fuse block (which has a cover on the SS). Can anyone id it more clearly for my own sanity? Thx in advance for the help...

I'm note seeing a note at the location.

And asanti, Don't forget about some SS' not having the under hood insulation, Those are the fastest SS' , That saves another pound , And almost 1 / 100 of a sec. 0-60
At least mine has no insulation from the factory.

PCM location

Once again.
The circled area is the PCM. (Nice location, right next to the battery)
My '07 2LT has a box that it sits in and a cover. I don't have a picture currently but will snap one.

gotcha, I don't see a need to cover those < There's nothing getting into that clamp fitting. IMO , Has'nt in 42,000 miles anyway.

OK, thanks. Doesn't look like it does much.

My '08 HHR SS 2.0L does not have this cover, but my son's '09 Cobalt LT 2.2 does have the cover.

I'll never be able to figure out GM's logic unless the GMPD had their own left handed, scientific reasons when they engineered the LNF.

(Donated pic is of an HHR LT)
