I myself have never purchased a car that way. I always shop til I drop, playing one dealer in my area against the other, against another pricewise. I wound up walking away a lot... but in the end I've gotten some pretty sweet deals. Knowledge of their invoice price plus incentives is KEY.

On the other hand, in the case of the HHR SS, I'm sure the first few will be going for a premium, until production catches up with demand. I hope to be ready to buy one this spring. By then the prices should be kind of sorting themselves out...

Exactly. Make sure your deposits are refundable guys; I don't see why the dealers wouldn't jack up the price on the first few to hit the lot.

There is only one SS column in that entire image hvrod posted.
There is a Panel LS and a Panel LT, no Panel SS.

I believe the SS is in its own category...

I ordered my panel the 2nd day of the preorders no prices no confirmed start of build or when I would see it.The panel they had at the auto shows was locked up so I couldn`t even sit in one.I knew I had to have it so I ordered it if I would have waited to test drive one it would have been 6 months. They only asked for $200.00 deposit on Visa and a full refund if I backed out.As it turned out I was the only one in my area that ordered one.By the time it arrived in June you had to wait for a 08.
