Blue Flash Dilemma

Back in November I ordered a BFM (all ebony interior) SS based on a paint chip sample the dealer had. Well my car arrived at the dealer where I went to see it yesterday and I have to say I am NOT thrilled with the color. It's like a light blue pearl, but the 'pearl' has a slight red tint to it which gives the car almost an irredescent purpleish/reddish look depending on the light. Maybe if I was 29 instead of 49, I might like it better. My dilemma is do I take the BFM and learn to love it, tell the dealer 'no thanks' and either order a different color from him (if he's not pissed) or just get one somewhere else? I never gave this dealer a deposit on the car. Any thoughts out there?

If you're not happy w/ the color, then you should order another (if the dealer will let you), or shop around for one you'll like or can order.

I have seen the color on other cars (same color on the vue, and some other cars) I like it, but I definately could tell its not everyones cup of tea. I would rock it, just to be unique :)

lets face it...other than price...the only other thing we deal with is options-color being one of them.

if you dont like it...bail. That's a lot of money to put down on something you'll have to learn to live with.

someone out there will want it.

question is...will you be MORE satisfied with another color?
if you wanted blue...you like blue...what if you decide on another color, and the same thing happens?

coin toss...me?...if my HHR wasnt DSM, it would have to be orange...if it wasnt orange...I wouldnt have a HHR(except maybe a white panel -but that's out of my budget)

Color of course is very subjective, what color do you want for sure? If you are not 100 % decided then take the blue, its just paint. Once the decision is made the stress goes away and you can play.

(It sure is easy being a expert with someone else’s money or choice. )

I saw that blue on an HHR at my dealer this past tuesday, and while I'm not really a blue guy, I was mesmerized by the way the BFM changed colors out in the sun with all that underlying metallic.
So I give a vote for it.

Edit: Maybe I'm not as picky about colors, but I have seen a color on an HHR I didn't like yet.

What Tom said... I am not a blue person either, but the way that blue changes in the light is awesome!

Just Bail!

You are the one that has to live with it.

Someone will buy it and be happy as a clam!

i would imagine that the dealer would not be too pissed if you ordered another color. Right now HHR SS's are as rare as the proverbial hens teeth, and it will not be hard to sell I would think... so tell him you'd rather have Imperial Blue or some other color.

The question now is, which other color do you prefer? I drove a black/black one the other night and it looked great, but since I have a black car now I don't want another one. Black is too much upkeep but imho it does look great when it's clean and freshly waxed.

The BFM is a $295 option, if you do not like the option you ordered the dealer could work with you or maybe not. I personally don't like the color simply because it would be hard to match in the event of a collision or any other repair.
