It depends on temp since the pcm controls peak torque but I have both a GXP
with same motor and a HHR SS and they are similar except that the pcm
limits boost in 1st gear on the HHR SS to 10 psi because traction is not as good as GXP because of weight transfer off the frt wheels when going to wot.
In 2nd to 5th gears, I see 15-17 psi and may see a little more when it warms up.

i've seen as high as 18psi in 3rd gear, and 12 in 1st. not sure how that happened, but it did. i know a lot goes into factoring the pcm limiting power and such, maybe it was because it was real hot out that day (in the 80's...that's HOT for here) so the intake charge wasn't as cool as it normally is or something, so the pcm felt a tad more boost wouldn't hurt. no idea really.

I've seen very close to 20 in second and third. Gotta shift too fast in first to watch boost gauge.

I have had two guages in mine due to intermitent operation of the first one. Both read 19-20 psi in 2 thru 4th, first gear goes so quick I can't tell with certainty (and I don't run full throttle in 5th). This is Sea Level to 1200 ft elevation.

Interesting. And you are stock with no boost controller or adjustable wga? What's the outside temp?

No modifications (yet). Typical outside temp is low 70's. Usually on the way in to work it is as low as 50 or so. Published data mentions 20 psi max, but I have read GM service procedures that seem to say 15 to 17 psi is normal maximum. My read on the VCM using the Beta software does not yet show the boost levels. Update: this morning it was 35 deg and at 800 ft el I had 16 psi max in 2nd and 3rd and 7 psi max in 1st (tc off and on).

c2vette...

To log boost in HP Tuners, you need to create a custom PID (MAP minus BARO) in your choice of kPa or PSI.
