Brembo brake option?

I'm almost embarassed to ask about this here as I work as a Wholesale Manager in a Chevy parts dept......but.....I have been reading about an optional Brembo brake setup? I looked in my parts catalogs and have not seen an alternate listing for this option.

Brembo's were optional on 2009 HHR SS's and 2008-2009 Cobalt SS's.

It also is a package with limited slip diff, Brembo 4 piston calipers, Brembo linings and performance rotors.

Nice option.

That's true, the 08's had both Brembos and LSD as separate options, for 09 the only way to get one was to get both.

I don't believe Brembos were even an option at all in 08.

Brembo's unfortunately weren't an option in 08 or else I'd have them. Oh well, as soon as I need new brakes (maybe before hand if I have extra cash) I'll get Brembos all round for the hell of it. Not really needed for the back but they look good.

I know the LSD and Brembos are packaged together so that rules it out the auto folks, but why is the Brembo package not available seperately for the slush box owners?

I bet there was doubt within GM to even offer an auto SS, they probably share the misconception that auto drivers are not "performance minded."
After all, there never was any auto trans option for the cobalt SS.
And LSD isnt impossible for auto trans either, they just decided against it. Too bad.

With full knowledge that it’s an old post-

Maybe not found it because the literature doesn’t mention Brembo by name?

RPO codes for SS:

SS-

JL9 Brake System - Power, Front and Rear Disc, Antilock, Front and Rear Wheel

SS w/ Brembos-

J56 Brake System - Power, Front and Rear Disc, Antilock, Front and Rear Wheel, Heavy Duty
