Bye bye HHR, it was fun! (when you were working) lol

Well I had to turn in my SS Lemon yesterday and it was sad. Loved this little go getter and I thought GM was screwing me on the deal for the buyback but I actually came out on top an extra $G note.

Knowing that I was going to have the turn the HHR in I've been looking relentlessly for a new car, even driving as far as 100 miles to check out it's replacement. I was getting discouraged because I wanted something particular in mind and on the eve of turn in I finally found it and it was at the dealer across the street from the turn in dealer. LOL They just got her the night before too!

So it's time to say good bye to you guys and thank you, you've all been great and very helpful, I'm off to the TBSS boards now.

The TBSS should be fun and trailer capable too, but the handling and MPG will never match the HHR of course. Too bad you got a lemon.

Since I work and live in the same town, gas wasn't a big issue. We put premium in the SS 's so it works out the same for me. Luckily I drive less than 10K a year. Thanks guys

Well as you can see I went the other direction

I turned in my TBSS and got the HHRSS.

Is your TB AWD or RWD? I had a AWD and beyond it being a beast, it sucked gas like it was going out of style. I'm talking average 10mpg around town. I get double that with my HHRSS. That being said... off the line the HHRSS will smack the TBSS. On the highway I felt like the TBSS's V-8 evens up the lead. But the HHRSS with stage 1 is faster. Not too mention a much better handling machine.

While I never had many problems with the TBSS I never felt like it would last over the long term.

Strong points, but as the owner of an 08 HHR SS and 95 Impala SS, I much prefer to drive the Impala day to day. I would feel the same in the TBSS vs the HHR, just a more comfortable driving position and less cramped. After owning the HHR SS for almost 3 years you really start to notice that it is the size of a Cobalt inside and that you are driving a compact car.

It's a heavy beast....in AWD it's curb weight is near 5Klbs....400hp to move that is nice...but not speedy. Of course you can dump money into making the LS2 become one of the more potent LSx series engines...but mainly, it's a heavy vehicle. They are nice in snow.....but the wallet will hurt.

I also downsized from my 20.1 avg mpg GMC Envoy to my 30.1 avg mpg HHR-SS. I'm very happy. The TB-SS will be lucky to have 13 avg mpg, it's like my Z71.

On I love the TBSS same 6.0 as my GTO had. They are not slow at all, and I really enjoyed the AWD burnouts and easy to mode the LS2 as well.

Hope you enjoy it. :)
