Cobalt SS Shifter to HHR SS?

Got a friend who has a new TWM short shifter for a Cobalt SS that he is willing to give me for a great price. Anyone know if it fits the HHR SS???

If you add any of the Cobalt/ HHR SS model shifters to their shopping cart they all show up the same there. Cobalt SS SC/TC shifter part number 4507. Buy it or let me know and I will haha.

Hope to get it in this weekend. - One point of clarification though - it was a Hurst quick-shifter, NOT a TWM! Guess that is why it was so much cheaper!!! I'll post results when I get it in - or if it doesn't fit!

Got nervous and stopped in my local dealer and parts dept printed out HHR SS and Cobalt SS shifter assemblies - SAME EXACT PARTS. With that confidence I tore into mine and it fit!

Thank you for sharing the information that you had found out. How is the vehicle since you have done this?

The Hurst shifter is much smoother and tighter than the stock shifter - a definite improvement!
My only concern is the reverse lockout - the Hurst is metal (aluminum) and doesn't line up as straight as I would expect with the plastic lockout 'rib' on the stock shifter base. I expect that the lockout 'rib' on the base is going to wear fairly quickly and cause the lockout to no longer function. As one who has driven manual transmissions for nearly 50 years, I'm not worried about losing the lockout, but for the price of the shifter I expected a better fit. Haven't talked to Hurst about it yet, but intend to do so.
