Competition Mode Shifting?
I have always practiced no lift shift before it became a "feature".
Something else I do is slide my foot off the side of the clutch pedal.
I find this easier to do in my wife's LeMans as there is more room beside the clutch pedal.
Violent but effective ;-}

I have to say...I finally got to try this out of some back country roads up in GA this weekend! Hot damn...this has renewed my love for the power this car puts down. I left two double black lines about 20 yards long and got it to about 130 before coming into a curve and quickly braking down to a more reasonable speed. I especially love the loud pop at each shift...
My buddy, who is a big turbo-diesel truck fan was very impressed as well. He never thought a lil turbo 4 wagon could do all that...then again, neither did I.

Yeah, I am looking at doing the Trifecta tune here in a few months, hopefully. I have already burned through one set of tires in 19K miles in stock trim...guess I better keep a "tire fund" for one the tune is in place.
I'm also looking to see what the competition mode and launch control features do in the automatics. I tried launching from a stop with the comp. mode on and the tranny in "I"; I powerbraked the car but the revs only went to 3500 rpm and the tires spun HARD (like 15'-20' of twin black stripes) at launch. I repeated it with the traction control on, and it took off like a bat outta heck. Am I missing something??
Granted this was done before the Stage Kit went in it may act totally different now.

So your saying w/ an auto you can hold the brake and gas and keep it at 4500 rpm?? Wont this tear up the breaks? I drive in the comp mode and notice the shift at different rpms.
I have also driven it in "I" but dont like it. When you let off the gas and are coasting when it gets to 30 mph it feels like you are hitting the brakes. It is how it shifts I assume. I just can't get use to the feeling every red light.
