DashHawk 0-60 times...

did my first 0-60 runs tonight with the DashHawk. getting used to how this operates.

1st run....Launch Control....no load on the engine.......in "L" 6.94

2nd run...Launch Control....1500 rpm's......................in "D" 6.75

did not look at boost, but it didn't even feel like there was any...

spun the tires more on the 2nd run than the 1st. you can feel that the engine is being held back. it does need a tune....big time

also when doing 80 mph, and you stomp on the pedal, hits a lower gear, but boost is only @10 lbs. you get a much better response doing the same
@60 mph

it was fun....more to follow

My SS would only pull 10lbs after being the shop for almost a month they rigged a part to keep it from loosing boost pressure. My ss in first sees 12psi and in 2nd will climb and hold 16psi.

On comp mode hold the brake down and spool the turbo up as much as it will. The comp mode will effect the torque converter and let it lock up at 2800 rpm. You will wheel spin a little bit but the car will be much more reponsive and faster and wiont bog.

will try....thanks for the tip
after reading the Windingroad article, they were getting 6.4 sec 0-60
with the 5 spd....my best so far was 6.75 with the Auto, and still learning, I am sure I can find another .35 real soon

Yeah the auto is suppose to be slower but I know turbos like to work under load. The auto will give you a longer gear letting the car pull harder for a longer period.

Chevy tried to put a 6 speed in the SS but it made it slower. So they went to a 5 speed instead to make the gearing longer. There is always defferent opinions on this but look at some of the fastest street cars in the world they either have Autos ( with a break on some) or Glides.

Another thing you might want to try is completely turn traction control off while autoxing I actually was getting my best times coming out of the hole with traction control totally off. The problem with it on is it dramatically cuts the throttle when it shifts from 1st to 2nd and takes a good half a second to get back into boost. Then just mess around with the revs and I bet you could beat that time.

I would assume that is when you are in Launch Control!!! Have to check out the owners manual.... I did notice that when I uploaded my 0-60 file from the DashHawk to the PC and played the file, that you could actually see that hesitation you talk about as it shifts, it all makes sense now.....about how it cuts the throttle, this is fun, more experiments in the works....

Ok let us no. . Film your dashhawk play back so we can see the differences. That would be cool.

After autoxing 15 runs, with my auto SS,you get the best times with traction control off.
I have a Triecta tune, so I did'nt notice any lag between shifts.
My best times were , when I loaded up the convertor on launch, RPM'S about 2300, and let it fly.
One thing do not do, unless you want a lot of drama, is do not turn off traction control and ESI, both. Car gets more than a little crazy under full throttle, and times slow down. "Moon"
