Dealer Has not Sold My Trade-In Yet

This might be relevant to some of you that are considering trading in SUV's or full size trucks. I traded in a super clean Silverado 4x4 LT that normally would have sold in a few days. That was back in January and my dealer still has it on the lot. I am sure glad i did not want to hassle with selling it retail in the hopes of getting another $2000. Sign of the times.

Depending on where you are, after winter is the worst time to try and sell any SUV/4X4. I held onto my truck until the beginning of next winter when I will try to sell. Still need a transport for my kayaks till I purchase the proper gear for my HHR.

I agree it's tough to sell right now but trucks still sell good in Texas. I sold my dad's 1991 regular cab 8' bed to the first looker. He tried to sell it in Oklahoma and over a 3 month time had one person come look at it.

I traded a 99 Dodge Ram that had a lift and big tires on it, and was getting 11-12mpg during the winter, when I used it mostly (I have the convertible for summer) in November, I got well above top book trade in, since it was low mileage and still pretty tidy (and the Dodge dealers offered even more), and it has sold within two weeks. Guess I timed it just right.
