Did It

OK well, I guess I'm not thinking about trading my 06 2LT for an SS anymore because today I did. I was looking at a new 09 with the $3500 cash back and an additional $450 dealer discount. I was seriously considering this vehicle because I really liked the fact that it didn't have the reconfigurable performance display that is standard on the 10 models. However, I found a new 10 model in Victory Red that the ad said to call for price and I thought...what can it hurt. I called and they told me $2500 cash back plus $2975 dealer discount. That brought the price to $22500 so I though I'd better go check it out. Nice rig and after I drove it they said an additional $750 for the Stage 1 upgrade installed, and they could have it done by tomorrow, so I said I'll take it. I don't usually make on the spot decisions like this, but It seemed like a good deal, I hope it was. I actually didn't mind the RPD after I had a chance to check it out, I still don't think it is as "integrated" looking as the pillar mounted boost gauge, but it'll be fine.

I told my wife I didn't really want to use it as a daily driver as we did the 06...and I also told her she could take over my daily driver, an 01 STS Cadillac if she wanted. She agreed and so I'll just go back to driving my truck as a daily driver. Anyway I'm jazzed, I go get it tomorrow. WooHoo

Wow, Im jealous. Have fun with the new ride.
And, in my opinion, if you enjoy driving the SS so much, make it your daily driver. You only live once.

Congratulations! I wouldn't be able to not have an SS as my daily driver. You have more will power than me.

Congrats and welcome to the 2010 SS club! How is it equipped? I have the victory red,5 spd and perf.pkg. The display grows on you after you play with it. Problem is, there is no owners manual for it.There are numerous settings that can be changed(gauge color, shift points on manual trans, etc.)Just wish there was an owners manual because I'm sure there are some changes that I haven't found yet.G=force resets to 0 after each key cycle.I wonder if it can store values in a memory? If you find any program tricks, throw them up on this forum. Congrats again on the new ride!

It's an automatic, so it doesn't have the perf. package...wish it did, but it appears not available for the auto. Anyway, I actually prefer the auto anymore, I guess I've become a lazy driver.

In the summer more maybe, but we get a bit more crappy weather than you do, which by the way I don't like much anymore.

Wow, what a rush... To drive your new SS off the lot with the stage kit already installed. HOLD ONTO YOUR HAT! because the HHR has no grab handles.

Good luck and many happy miles!
