First oil change in "new to me" SS

Just got oil changed at the dealer and the price seemed too low, so I questioned if they used synthetic and they assured me that they did. After getting home and trying to lookup the numbers from the recept, it appears that they didn't. The oil they used is listed as 12345615 oil5w30B .
Total charge for oil/filter change and rotation was $46.15 .

I'm reluctant to drive it until I find out what I have.

Any insights appreciated.

I'm going to hazard a guess that the "B" means it's a synthetic blend. I don't know anything for certain, though. That also seems like a lower than usual price to me, too. I do my own, but it seems they are close to $50 around here for the full synthetic.

If it's a blend, I wouldn't panic. It should still be pretty good. I used a blend in my last car (not an HHR), because it blew the synth out of the PCV too much when I was autocrossing. It was actually losing oil faster, so I had to adapt...

Sure. Get on the phone ASAP and call the dealer. Have them verify exactly what oil they used.

Even if they used regular oil, you will be okay. Just change it earlier than you normally would with synthetic on you're next oil change.

60 K of nothing but synthetic blend on my SS. Like they say. Just change it sooner.

After some more digging, I have found one page that says the 12345615 oil is conventional oil. I was hoping it was at least a blend. I was under the impression that we needed full synthetic oil.
Here is where I found it . http://simonbeckett.wikispaces.com/f...+CHEMICALS.pdf

Thanks for the responses.
