First performance mods...

Tax season is upon us... I'm looking to put some performance upgrades on the SS but I can't decide where to start.
Trifecta or HP will be a must... Just didn't know which supporting mod to buy first. Charge pipes, IC, Forge BPV. Down pipe, etc.

Since you guys are the veterans here, where would you start. I don't think I have enough in the budget for all the supporting mods and the tune all at once.

Thanks in advance!

I'm good for doing the tune first!! I think this automatic would be 10 times better to drive with another 10-12psi.

I'm planning an exhaust and the motor mount first then I want to do the box and ill tune at the same time. Prob leave everything else stock for now.

Welp, I ordered a Forge BPV. What a difference something that small can make! The stock BPV wasn't torn and was still in working order from what I could tell. However, the car definitely isn't searching for boost 24/7 now. And the stock BPV would dump boost as quick as it could build.

Next up, getting the windows tinted. Driver/passenger is getting 20% along with another 20% on the back hatch. Front windshield is getting some new ceramic llumar tint. And trying to set up a tune with James (chevycobaltss3). Not going too crazy on the tune. Probably just stay around 20psi and add some timing. Hopefully that will make this automatic much more fun to drive!

Where did you purchase your BPV from and is there any sound difference?

I see there is two out there the forged and the atmospheric forged. I would love a little closer to the turbo woosh sound if possible

I got the regular recirculating BPV from Bad News racing in south florida. The sound is definitely better over stock but the air box hides most of it. I've been driving around without the lid on just for fun. Haven't listened to the radio for a week haha
I read a few things saying that the atmospheric BPV wasn't easy to tune so I opted for the other. I'm happy with it. I don't need another race car. Just want this one to be a bit more fun to drive.

Regardless of "ricers" or hobbyists or whatever you want to call them. People will do what they want for the reasons they want. If it makes them happy then so be it. No reason to put labels on people, Especially ones you do not know.

I didn't buy the BPV for the noise.... I bought it because the stock one is a flawed design and frankly a P.O.S. The forge unit works perfectly and I can definitely tell a difference over the stock one. It's an extra added bonus that you can hear the turbo better.

When I had my old SS my plan was a one stop trip for mods. Made tuned easier to just do it all at once. Plus saves money on multiple tunes. Compared to other cars ive owned thus one is cheap to mod.

Intercooler, piping (both sides), 3 bar map, and a tune. Basic and simple.

As for tint and other looks I didn't plan much.

Now looking back the upgraded blowoff sounds great as I broke 3 wastegates and as a result killed one turbo. (Which is why thids is past tense and never was done) haha

When I find my next one I will probably go the same route as I planned to with my old one.
