First performance mods...
I'm still on the fence of what I want to do but I want it to be a little Louder. This is my first turbo car myself and I'm learning a lot but having a blast reading up on things.
I think next for me though is suspension, new shocks and struts and to lower it.
Fatal you said you were riding with the air box lid off? Does that gain anything? I figured that would throw codes with as picky as these things seem to be.

Louder is easy. You can go catless downpipe but will throw a cel that would need properly tuned out or last I checked there were a few different cutback systems. If you have the ability even just a simple muffler change would work. Aftermarket systems were 3" stock we are 2 1/2 if im correct.
Just take it off and see, some have used a spacer on the bolts to lift the lid slightly. Either way some throw codes some don't . this is a good option http://www.borla.com/products/hhr_06..._19158628.html
No exhaust for me. From what I've read stock works just fine and flows decent. No codes for me with the lid removed...
I'm not trying to build a race car. Just a nice daily that has some pep. And I think once I get it tuned I will enjoy it.

Yeah Im kind of in the same boat. I don't wont to mess with the factory too much,
I was thinking the BPV, Exhaust and a Tune and call it a day. :)
I want to replace the factory stereo as well when once comes around that I like

you can get the forge BPV at Genuine Saab for the cheapest I have seen, thats where I ordered mine from. They also have the hot side pipe for $125 i think. intercooler too but it is made for the cobalt, it will work and some on here have used it.
if you are going to tune then def get the ttr motor mount if you are auto, really helps plant the power
check out another post on here on how to core the stock DP instead of buying one, seems to be the best option to keep the lower end torque on our rides, other than that the exhaust on these is pretty free flowing so really not much need to upgrade it. same with the intake, i have the K&N and have had no problems but others have had numerous problems with it and other CAI's
