Fixed my low boost problem

I took my HHR SS to the dealership and they wouldn't fix it so I came to the fourm and some of you were talking about waste gate mod so I tried it and it brought my boost back up to 20 psi and it builds like it did when it was new I believe that the springs in the waste gate gets weak and adjusting it Fixed mine.

Probably like most dealerships nowadays, they did not know what needed to be done,

What if the waste gate adjustment was not the problem and it is just masking the real problem?

What is the waste gate adjustment? I've seen it mentioned a few times and asked about it on another thread but I don't think I ever found an explanation...

here's a how-to even though this is not specific for our vehicles its a general idea. there is a nut that you back off and then adjust the rod as jeff was saying below in his post... DON'T CUT IT.....

That's for a civic and uses the word "hacksaw."

all i did was to adjust (shorten) the adjustment there are two nuts one on ether side of the waste gate arm I shorten it as short as I could which places more pressure on the waste gate and keep it closed tighter and if your car isn't setting any codes the dealership I took it to wouldn't look at it, they drove it and said it has a lot of power there is nothing wrong with it.

Eric, yeah I did see all those google images, and followed one to a sky forum, but it was too early in the morning to think about such stuff. Suffice to say short rod = more boost, long rod = less boost.

Defies logic eh?
