gmpp air intake

first of all, let me say i'm sorry for another intake question. but i can't get an answer from any dealer parts dept. i have an 09 ss. has gmpp made an air intake for this year? i'd rather stay with gmpp in case of codes. also, i have the stage kit and would like to get it installed soon. if that is installed without changing the air intake, do i not get as much increase in power ? thanks for any help.

As stated no GM intake

you will gain to 290 HP and 315 FT LBS of torque with the stock set up adding the stage kit.

IF GM did a intake it may be worth an average of 9 HP could be a little more or less. The stock intake in not all that bad and it may not have much room to imporve.

The stock intake really needs a lot to improve the intake tubing has so many bends that restrict so much air flow. The intake box itself actually isn't bad as stated above^^^

You may be thinking of the K&N system, they have something in the works, but we have heard of nothing from GM being started.
As stated above, the stock system is very good with very little restriction, there is little to be gained by replacing the stock system unless you want to do it for looks.

Check under the 2.0 listing here I have posted the info on the K&N system they will release in the near future.

Part number is listed and is from the 09 K&N catalog. It is not out yet so it is not on their web site yet.

I spoke to the people I know there and they said they have test fitted and dyno'd it. I assume they are waiting on the emisssion approval befoe they go into production. ETA 6 months?

Wanna try something differnt? While the weater is still cool, pop the top off the air box and drive it around for a week or so and then tell us what your thoughts are,,,SS cars only...since its a cone filter it doesn't do any harm..similar to doing a CAI witout spening any bucks....I already am doing this but will hold any thoughts for now, other then you;ll get a taste of what it does for sound. AND since its cool out AND the airbox is , well, a box,( more like a bucket,it only draws air from the top ) you don't have to hype about sucking in hot air as the warm air is drawn DOWN with the airflow that exits out the bottom of the eng compartment.Chime back with your findings..I don;t want to influence anybody with my thoughts yet so you have an unbiased whatever you determined it to be results.....

Guys.......I've heard from my GM sources that GM Performance as a division, has been disbanded and the engineers that brought us the HHR SS are now working on other platforms. Don't hold your breathe waiting for anything else along these lines. I hated to hear that.
