Gmpp Stg 1 how much boost do u get PSI?

What's normal boost level for the Stg 1 kit? I am seeing only 17 maybe 18lbs of boost after the upgrade. Befor I was max 15 lbs. Also my gas mileage sucks. I keep seeing 19 miles to a gallon. Part of the bad mileage is city driving and me allways driving like I stole this car all the time. I don't know if something is wrong. I changed my air filter and then I pulled the 25 fuse to reset the ecu and it still the same. I read stories of people seeing 24lbs of boost after the upgrade. Any feed back or ideas? Is this normal or is something up? I allways use 93 gas never anyless than that. Possible boost leak? Could my spring in the bov be bad? Wrong programming? I am using the Crate engine depot set up so it was plug and play. Thanks in advance

Adam

Did you say, you took out of box and plugged it in. I think there's a reflash from GM that makes it go. Mine hits 22 max on a good day. Yesterday was a good day

did you trim the lower sensor? check the o rings on the sensors and make sure they are seated properly and screwed in tight. then diagnose a boost leak. something is wrong if you are only getting 19mpg and seeing only 17-18lbs. probably not the spring....maybe the programming but probably not. if you were getting a full 15lbs before the install it likely has something to do with the install so if you didn't touch the bpv then the issue is probably not with it.

GMTU kit? Take it back to the installing dealer and let them sort it out. It seems to be an obvious problem with the install or reflash. The kit does have a warranty after the dealer install.

Boost levels will vary with atmospheric pressures and conditions. The ECM is not targeting a specific boost number, it's looking for a specific air mass number. I've been driving with the GMTU kit for about a year now and my boost always varies. It's always higher when it's hot and lower when it's cold. On my last fill I averaged 8.2l/100km or 28.69 mpg, mind you I've been easy on it.

while this is true i don't see the variances being great enough for boost to be down 6lbs....2 or 3 maybe

I didn't do the install. I was referring to the crate engine depot kit witch has a plug and play harness.

This is what I am thinking. Don't get me wrong it's fast. I just think there is suppose to be more boost based on what I have been reading.
