The second problem I ran into while testing for boost leak was once I got to about 10-15 psi, air started coming out oil fill cap.
yeah that's way too high for the turbo inlet....if you did it through the charge piping like i described in option 2 you could go to 20ish psi since that is what the turbo would put out anyway but you cant force 20psi into the air inlet of the turbo. remember what you took off from the inlet....the air intake...the intake is not pressurizing the turbo. the turbo only sucks in air via the intake. definitely lucky nothing was damaged. yikes....i was just thinking how that would be possible. the only way i see air coming out the oil cap is the air escaping the turbo seals and going through the turbo's oil lines and into the engine crankcase........holy freggin crap

Palm to forehead.....what damage could it uave caused that may not be evident right away? Everything is running fine and haven't had any problems since but I hoping I did not create a problem that will show up later?

lol...i would be worried about the turbo seals themselves more than anything i think. any internal engine damage would be evident already.

Also I've been thinking that the ones who claim they are getting 22-24psi may have the pillar mount boost gauge. I have the rpd which is electronic. So my question is....are some of you seeing 20-24 psi on the rpd display ( with Gmstg1). I am thinking it may b just because of the gauge itself.
I am a pillar boost gauge as well.

On a seperatw note if I drive completely out of boost on my way to work I can see 27 miles a gallon. I don't think thats right either. I am a 5 speed, usually they get better mileage but I am not seeing it.

Ding! Flash! Boost pressure does not mean more horsepower. The ECU reads how much boost it needs to maintain 260H.P, via airflow. Lower boost, your still getting the H.P. you'd get a higher levels. "Moon"

while true there are instances where a loss of boost can result in less than 260hp
