Going to sell my '08 SS sadly... Have a few questions though!

Hello all. As much as I hate to do this, I'm trying to consolidate some bills and I'm going to step down (from the SS) to a "cheapo" car for family budget considerations. Having said that, I have a few questions as to the value of my car.

I have about 2.5 years left of GMPP "bumper to bumper" extended warranty. How much value should this add?

I know mods do not get you much in terms of resale, but do you think I'd get anything extra for the GM turbo upgrade, Hahn full turbo-back exhaust, LED tails, black aftermarket headlights, Turbo Tech sway bar and engine mount, aftermarket 18" wheels/tires, Boston Acoustic speakers, along with some other small mods?

I'm going to list the car locally, but any idea what my car would bring as it sits? 46k miles, auto, sunroof, etc.

Thanks in advance everyone!

Brian

Sounds like a great car, sorry you have to sell it. I would take off the sway bar, I discovered they corner better with out that one. Give it a try just for kicks, only 4 bolts, the difference really surprised me..

Check your local kelly, and Nada value then go from there...

Sad state of affairs , but you have to do what you have to do!
most people hear seem to strip off the mod parts and sell them on the site. or you may find some one willing to purchase the car as it is with the mods but usually not much more than the going NADA or KBB value!
Post some pics and what price your thinking of and test the waters!!!

Chances are the buyer will not appreciate the extras and you would get more money selling them separately. Checking local prices on autotrader.com is a good start.

I would think someone buying the SS would know what they were buying and would appreciate some tasteful mods.

The part I thought would be the most attractive was the 2.5 years of warranty through GM left on the car.

I promise I will post some pics right away! Thank you everyone for your responses thus far!

About half of what you paid for it prorated? Can you get any credit if you don't transfer?

You can try to find someone who wants these mods (maybe on here...) and sell it as is. Failing that, most people pull everything off, and sell the parts. My last car I had all kinds of stuff (exhaust, suspension, both swaybars, camber plates, short shift kit...). I sold it cheap, but still have a few things a couple years later. Even at fire sale prices, though, I still ended up with around $500 extra. Buyers on Craigslist or AutoTrader aren't going to pay much for mods at all. The Turbo upgrade may be an exception, since it's more of a factory one. It's your choice, but you're most likely to end up with more money by parting it out.

I only paid $800 for the warranty for 5 years. I know if I was buying a used car and had the option of receiving 2.5 years of factory warranty, I would take that car over any other if everything else was equal.

Here are some pics. Thanks again for everyone's input!
