I liked the combination of a "sporty" and "utility" vehicle.
I wanted a fun car to drive, thus a SS with 5 speed. But with the HHR, you get it all . . . Fun to drive. People like it. Pretty efficient if you keep the foot out of it. Insurance isn't too bad. Sits 4 comfortably. Four doors (I love four doors) Carrys stuff. I've even hauled 2x4s and conduit completely INSIDE with the hatch closed. |
09 ss
I love my SS I drive it like I stole it most of the time and get 21 mpg per tank.
I have a 07 G5 and my insurance is $40 more per year. It does get 2 mpg better gas mileage than my SS but is not near as much fun to drive. The video system is great 10" screen for this daughter she loves it. I also have 2 12" rockfords in a box in the back and the fit is great.I can take them out in 3 minutes and have my cargo space back. |
whats with the panels...just for looks? or good for a work vehicle so no one can see tools or sumthin in the back?

That is where most of the damage would happen in a weak tranny. GM must hav it figured out as they said it will still under warranty and I am sure they would want to replace any trannys. |
Limits in 1st and 2nd in the auto upgrade...dun think so lucy!

somebody with an auto got the upgrade and told me he has to "work the throttle" to keep from just spinning tired in 2nd and 3rd cause of the power upgrade and from 30mpg he can chirp the tires flooring it...so he says he notices more take off

GM used this on many of their V8 cars to keep the trannys alive. The managment system on the GXP and GTP Grand Prixs do a lot. Removing them make the car much faster but often the owner loses the transaxle at some point later. Someone here with the upgrade may be able to get it mapped out on a dyno and let us know. |
