Cool Great mtn. car!

Wow, I never drove a turbocharged car in the mountains before, but this HHR SS is awesome! It climbs and pulls like no other car I have ever taken thru these mountains. Just passed thru the Bighorn Mts. in Wyoming on highway 14 today and I am so impressed I had to write about it.

Not only does this car look and feel cool, it just outperformed any car or tuck I have ever driven through the hills. I have taken many trips up/down the Rockies, Appalatians, Seirras etc. with many other vehicles, and this has been the most fun of all. Having the 5 spd especially made the downhill pacing very easy. The climbing was so simple though, I was surprised I rarely need to downshift! Even with the RPM's down in the 2K range it just pulled right along!

Sorry man, I had to let the secret out!

Here is a picture or two of the pass over the mountains today. Gotta love that snow! I guess they got about 2 ft. on Friday! There were a few sleds riding around up there also!

I broke mine in on a 1700 trip, mostly through the mountains..........I agree with you 100%, very nice powerband for that sort of driving.

Thanks, I love those mountain pictures too. I have another one in front of an old airplane museum that I'll have to post as well, but too tired to drag out the camera tonight.

It was an 800 mi. day today! I'll be home tomorrow though... I think about 2,900 miles in 5 days! Looks like a 30.6 mpg average for the entire trip so far.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention... I saw a car-carrier bringing a load of HHRs up I-90 in Montana yesterday also! I believe it had 3 SS models on it, two black ones and a red one just like mine!
