I think it is important to point out that Bill Hahn is not claiming all tunes are the same. I think it is fair to say that the Hahn/PPC is pretty darn good for a handheld packaged tune, and was first (by a long ways) to be available which many of us really appreciated. He has also acknowledged that it now needs to be more price competitive with the current options. Personally I would like to get the Trifecta tune next, but not until I upgrade my clutch, and in the meantime the Hahn/PPC tune puts a smile on my face every day. As I said before, just choose one and enjoy!

c2vette, I like your views on this. It really boils down to what the owner enjoys and trusts as far as the brand and performance is concerned.

I too will post numbers after I get set up with my Stage 1 and bolt ons. I just feel like my Dyno this and my Dyno that sounds kinda lame if that is your end all be all. Good to compare with.
And dyno number can mean crap at the track. My 98 Z28 when it was stock put down 287 RWHP and 307 RWTQ stock but the power band was almost straight across the band. Ran 13.2' stock. Some others dynoed much higher but their power band was a rise and fall but made more HP and TQ than mine. Their track times were in 13.6 - 13.8 range at the same mph 106 - 107. Dynos don't mean anything. Track means everything.

Lol last time I checked you can see on the graph where your power band is at what rpms with a dyno. A dyno is a tuning tool if you don't use the info provided to tune with you are doing it wrong.

Yes but many people think that Dynos will tell you how fast your car will be. You can have a crappy power band and good peak power and run crappy times at the track. It is only a tool and will never dictate what people will run in the 1/4 mile.

Many people also think that the track will tell you how fast your [car] will be.

Back in my turbo bike racing days, I put down plenty of 10.0's at Texas Motor Speedway... but strap my buddy on there (our own version of "PeeWee Gleason," who weighed 98# wearing a wet terrycloth robe, and practically invented the "No Fear Racing" theme), and he could put the very same bike in the 9.40's... and it wasn't done at the light.

The point is... the dyno is a tool (a very repeatable, reliable tool to determine a baseline of performance). The track is a tool... one with huge variables that are often difficult to account for (weather, track conditions, driver reaction/skill, intimidation, etc.). Use both tools to their individual advantages.

Just for a comparison between the BSR tune and Hahn HPT tune that was done on my car over a year ago and I am sure that some guys have tweeked out some more HP on there tunes. I have been running the HPT for over a year with no problems other than I really could use a new clutch but it only slips in 4th and 5th. enjoy

Correct, Dynos are a tool for the engine performance but will not give you track numbers. Lots of people get upset about having low number and get confused why their track times are faster than someone with a higher HP car. I love dyno qweens sucking at the track. You can have a 1000 hp car and still run 13.5 because the set up is wrong. LOL

At this point could someone just be the first to measure 'it' so we a baseline to start the comparison. And I am not talking HP there......

Just let this thread die, and either choose to buy or not to buy from Hahn in the future.
