HAPPY 4th to everyone today!!!
have a Happy & most of all a Safe 4th to everyone today, no only to enjoy the day but to also take a moment to remember what this day really stands for, and to all of our people in the forces that help make it happen.....

During the last 24 hours, the media has been mentioning 2200 Marines of the 24th Expeditionary Unit have been extended another 30 days for fighting the Taliban in southern Afghanistan. One of them is my younger son. My eldest child just got out of the Navy after serving over 9 years including two Persian Gulf tours, tsunami relief flying and Katrina relief flying. She flew the big 53s and had over 60 people in the back of her helo in New Orleans at times. I have many other relatives serving this country and feel differently about this holiday than most might........... Have a great one!

Thank you! All five of my kids either entered the military or at least tried for a military scholarship. Not only Southerners see the military as an honor to be part of. I am proud of my service and raised my children to understand the military is an opportunity to give back to a wonderful country. I also have relatives in the chAir Farce which is an alternative to military service.
