Question Has Anyone Thought Of Changeing The Grill?

I've seen different grills from mesh to ?? offered for the HHR, but has anyone thought of a change for the SS?

The stock grill and it's design just begs for some type of highlight.

The stock HHR chrome grill adds to the retro look and some of the aftermarket offerings look great....but the SS has no options but the standard black?

Of course the lower intercooler cover and fog light covers would need to match.

I've though of one of the many offerings that include a carbon fibre look or color and texture of your choice. One option is heat activated color changeing paint.

Would just a mesh grill look better that the stock plastic...polished?

What would look unique...and not be too ostentatious?

Careful with words like ostentatious. LOL!

I like th epresent grill. Also no one make a different grill that fits right. The tube billet grills just look bent if they are not done right. I have seen a few of these and they all look like somethings wrong.

Street Scene is doing a mesh but they told me last week they are going to do a shell for the hood because the mesh just did not if solid. It will be late summer before it is ready and is already a year late.

As of now I have seen noting on the SS that would better than stock so I will keep it that way on mine unless someone can come up with something better. So far no one has.

Carbon fiber looked neat on cars 5 years ago and now if it is not real it just looks silly. Too much real stuff in now available even from the factory and it just make it look bad now.

It's not that I don't like the stock grill, but it lacks just a we bit in the personalization area...

I'm thinking very Dark Red Carbon Fiber...and I like the carbon fiber look

Or something subdued.

I like the custom mesh approach but it's more prevalent and commonplace than the fake carbon look...

Maybe black mesh?

Isn't that what we have already (Black plastic mesh)? Personally, I'd like to see the mesh in the foglight surrounds opened up though. I don't like the "fake" mesh look they give off and it would give an oportunity to create ducting either for brake cooling or a source of fresh air for the stock air box or a true CAI.

The stock grille is nice the way it is. The shell being body color with black mesh keeps with the sporty look. I think chrome would take away since everything else is body color (handles, Mirrors).

As for the fogs, if they were true mesh the car would be even more less aerodynamic and it would probably be prone to cracking and you'd see wires/housing of the fog behind it.
