It could be something simple like an oil line or a seal too. He lost oil and it got onto the exhaust. It could have come from many places.

Unless he removed the rev limiter I don't think he over reved it. Not much point in removing it if you are racing.

I am more impressed how well the HHR was running in a field of sports cars. Look at the cars around him and in the mirror of the video.

He also did a great save.

Road Atlanta is a great track.

dang, fun while it lasted but what a bummer for the SS.
That was cool watching it hang with some race cars.
Those other drivers are prolly thinkin WTF what has that thing got?

Hmm, mentions pedders suspension, so was that test on the stock suspension or the pedders? .97 is even better than I expected.
