HHR SS Winter Driving

I am thinking of a HHR SS 5 speed, but I live in north western Ohio. I curently have a Subaru Impreza wich is AWD. I also need to hall a jet ski @ just under 800 Lbs. How do the SS perform in Winter, Will I have to chang my tires?

If you tow with the SS your warranty will be "Void" No towing with the SS

ccash...

Like Tom said above... the SS isn't rated to tow and there's been some talk about no hitches available (except for cramming a hitch from a standard HHR under the rear bumper).

As far as how it will handle in the snow, there might not be much data available for that yet as the SS model was just coming out as the winter was ending I believe. My 2008 2LT did great in the snow though with the traction control, etc.

Its aginst the law for a manufacture to void your warranty. If anything it would void any warraty clames for the trainsmition.

This place is showing fittment for Cobalt SS & HHR. How much difference is the rear bumber on the SS HHR. Chech out the instruction sheet.

The fitment would be the same as far as the way the hitch would bolt onto the frame, but the problem lies with the SS having a lower rear bumper than the regular HHRs have.

There are a couple of threads about hitches and SS around including one with a pic showing that the hitch, when installed, presses upward on the plastic of the bumper and it looks like it would crack the plastic. Maybe some modifications like a tailpipe cutout or something might make it work.

Here's linkage to one of the threads:

I'm looking for a hitch for a bike rack mount. I tow a 5000lb boat and move mowers, so I kept my pickup.
