I just wanted them to replace the damned carpet, but they told me they couldn't do it, as it was form fitted, and fastened with adhesives to the floor pan in too many places to remove. Twice they have shampooed with without removing it, but it hasn't really helped. My car has smelled of mildew ever since it was 4 months old. I've had 15-year-old cars, and none has ever smelled this bad.

The value of the vehicle has clearly been reduced. At this point they aren't leaving me a lot of choices... A third attempt cleaning the carpet without removing it. They say they can't replace it. I didn't really plan on using the lemon law, but they haven't left me with any other options.

I don't know what to tell you about the mold making you sneeze. GM hasn't exactly been eager to help with my carpet problem. Your best bet is probably to go in and have them attempt another repair. Keep the paperwork. The wet carpet and the leak are related, so hopefully you can successfully count the failed repairs as part of the same issue. Depending on your state's lemon laws, hopefully that will give you a way to take care of it.

They get one more chance from me then I will. Most of the dealers in the area suck.

One's perspective on whether a car is the worst or not is directly related to their experiences with it. If I had your problems I wouldn't be too keen on the SS. But if you read a lot of the posts on here, most owners are pretty happy with their SS's. I include myself in that group. I know it isn't perfect, and it only has 10K miles on it, so it will likely have some problems down the road. However, I've owned a lot of GM vehicles, and they all have minor problems, especially with the fit and finish. I've had every imaginable rattle, squeak and sound over the past 15 years in one of my cars. I just accept that as the price to pay (or rather price I didn't pay) for a GM vehicle.
