How to remove intercooler mesh?

Hey guys, How do you remove the mesh in front of the FMIC?

I see there are plastic clips holding it but they seems to not budge much at all.

Anybody have a how to and some photos of their mesh removed on their SS TC?

OK,so how did you remove it. I thought you had to remove the whole bumper cover just to get at the clips. If you found a shortcut, please let us know.

Bad choice unless you're going to put something else on. 1 rock will make for a bad day.

I just had a rather large rock fly up from the car in front of me and put a hole in the lower mesh grill in front of the inter cooler. Luckily the cooler is fine but now I need to install a new mesh lower grill.

Can you easily take that out without removing the whole bumper? If so, please post the procedure.

Also, anyone have an idea on what a new lower grill costs?

Thats why they put mesh on grilles and intercoolers. To try and prevent rocks and other flying objects from tearing up radiators and intercoolers.
Some may think it looks cool on race cars, but the HHR is'nt a race car, by any strech. High preformance SUV maybe. "Moon"
