Its a lot less road noise with asphalt than concrete (assuming both are in decent shape). Concrete also wears down tires a littler faster but also has better traction than asphalt. They both have there trade offs.

Concrete is 2-3 times more expensive to construct, but can last 25 years as opposed to asaphalt that will last around 10 years. Repairs of concrete pavement can be more difficult as well. The joints cause the biggest issue. And believe me, driving an SS over a concrete roadway with bad joints is not a good experience. I know, because I have to do it every day.
