Question I'm new here and have a question

Wondering if anyone here considered a Scion xB before they bought their HHR. I want good mileage and some room to haul things now and then. What swayed you to the HHR ( the way I'm leaning ) ? Thanks, Tim

didn't really consider one, but i could point out a few things that made the xB less than desirable to me, that i found counter-aurguments in the HHR...

for one, the HHR doesn't look like a refrigerator...i've also driven many xBs and they just have no power. granted the new ones (uglier...less boxy, but uglier) have more power, but still utterly gutless. i also find the interior of the HHR more comfortable. i hate the center mounted clusters they're doing in the scions, and for some reason they like turning the whole dash into a flat shelf. good idea as far as plenty of places to put things and be easily accessible...except it's plastic, so everything goes sliding as soon as you make a turn over 10 mph.

just some thoughts *shrugs*

Welcome to the site!

While I did not look at a Scion, my boss is looking at them. He was originally looking at a Toyota Rav4 and a Scion xB. When he saw my new HHR, he immediately fell in love with mine. The next weekend, he went and drove them both. He's ordering an HHR SS. He felt the HHR offered more usable cargo space in the HHR, better ride and handling, and a more pleasing shape while still being very unique. He also felt he got more for his money with the HHR.

I like the dash mounted 5sp manual shifter setup on the new Xb:

and they have tons of mods available like this trd short shifter:

The new Xb looks like a toy robot. Takes some getting used to:

Honda Element has the same dash mounted 5sp shifter and the Honda 2.4, and can be had with AWD. Wont beat an SS, but good for recreation.

The new xB to me looks like a Volkswagen Rabbit that made it 3/4 of the way through a sex change operation (F to M).
