Insurance on the SS ?

Hello everyone
I'm considering trading my 2002 Blazer Xtreme in on a new HHR SS. Question for the new owners. How is the Insurance on the SS? Is it classified as a sports car because of the turbo? I'm gonna call and get a quote before I even go look. Thanks in advance, Mike

It's not even listed with insurance companies yet..so they just flag it as hhr. They'll do a vin search with their mgr and come back with the quote. It wasnt bad, think maybe ~300 / 6mths.

That's it right there. Once a national statistic is available, you can get accurate rates. So some of those will change down the road. I remember that with a new sports car I bought back in 1994, first year with the motor and insurance didn't have a classification on it yet.

Best bet is to call your insurance company and ask, what my rates are have no bearing on yours.

Cool

Can't comment 'cause I don't have an SS, just a regular HHR (w/ the base engine, lol), but I just wanted to comment on your Blazer-- it looks very sharp, has to be hard to think about parting with it.

I bet you'd love the HHR SS too, though. From everything I'm reading on this forum and in the magazines the SS in manual transmission version pulls super strong and yet gets amazing MPG for that amount of power on tap. A true testament to GM powertrain engineering! And the looks ain't too shabby, either...

Woah a minute that is a VERY nice Blazer. Certainly hope you sell it (eBay?, craigslist?) rather than trade it as it is just too nice. Got to be very hard to part with that, especially if it is V-6 5 spd.

Yeah I love the Blazer but could use something with a little better gas mileage. Not sure what I'm gonna do yet. May just keep it, LOL

Very nice indeed. Reminds me of my extended cab S-10 I did. I sunk massive amounts into it and traded it like a doofus and lost my ass. Had everything but the kitchen sink and air ride. Sure do miss it.
