It's...GONE!!!

Well after owning my new 2008 HHR SS with GMPP upgrade in March 2008(only 42,000 miles put on it, absolutely no rust), I sold it. The new owner is very happy(wife of a funeral home owner). My new ride is a 2019 Cadillac XT5 Luxury(Bose 14 speaker, rear A/C control/rear heated seats and with a few added options(lighted sill plates, lighted trunk plate). I'm really going to miss the little buggy, but it was time. The Caddy is smooth as silk and a lot more comfortable. The biggest difference is "vision", I won't miss the blind spots that really could have caused me many an accident, Fortunately, I never had any. Through all the years of being a member here, I appreciated the help and assistance of many a member and staff for their words of wisdom and car knowledge. Even though the membership has dwindled over the years, there were always great people to welcome anyone. I will return occasionally to read some threads. Good luck everyone

Nice choice. 310 hp and 271 lb.-ft. of torque for that 3.6L V6 is gonna be sweet having that extra power. Hope you got it in Black. :)

It's standard on all 2019 XT5s...I believe there may be a 2.0L turbo on the 2020s with 237 HP, and the V6 with 310 HP

Come back in a couple of months and give a review about the XT5. Right now it's sitting at No. 1 on my list for my next car. I would be interested to know what you think about it.

I've been lining up the XT5 for over a year now. I followed owners from last years' models on forums and heard the complaints and the change from the SRX to the XT5. I did decide to wait a year and let GM get the bugs out. It is everything I expected. The only quirky thing is the stop engine feature at red lights and the gear shifter. I think it is easier and quicker to use IMHO. It will take some getting used to. "BONUS". I also get "8" free oil changes(5W/30 synthetic and filters). Everything else is just a dream. Intel lights auto high beam and rainsense wipers let you drive instead of reaching for switches. Full length sun roof with power sun shade. The front part opens like the HHR SS does. I am getting XM radio for $2.00 for 6 months. Both front seats(memory enter and exit for driver, heated, power) are comfortable. Heated, folding side mirrors with tilt down when backing up are real nice. I have the rear centre console A/C with heated rear seats that allow the rear passengers to control their own environment. The rear seats also slide and recline. The biggest thing that I like is the vision of the road, the HHR has those huge front pillars that you needed to look around every time, the XT5 gives a nice clean view. Back up camera with assist is nice, but I really don't need it. Although the seat likes to vibrate when I get near a curb, wall or another vehicle. I haven't adjusted the distance in the system yet. The auto open/close rear power hatch is smooth to use. The switch is under the driver door arm rest in the opening for water bottles, etc. There is a button on the hatch that you can push to close and it opens the same as the HH SS where the soft touch near licence plate is.The remote key opens the hatch also and it allows all 4 windows to open with A/C set when starting the vehicle which is nice on those hot, sunny days. 3 data/chargers in the front area and 2 chargers in the rear centre console for phones, etc. There are a lot of buttons to get used to and trying to figure out the configurations take time. I can't say enough about it. I'm lovin' the Luxury model so far. I did add some options after the OEM production. A little bling and front and rear wheel moldings. I imagine the model makes a difference. The front wheel drive or lowest model would probably disappoint. The XT4 is much smaller and the XT6...well you could get an Escalade for that price. The XT5 is probably the only vehicle I really enjoy completely. Now, if they developed a tune or some bolt ons...that would be well...SSish. The final tally with tax would have been $66,800 Cad. I got it for almost 18K less.
Cheers, Bill
