2008 BMW 328i with low miles is worth $21,000 or so on trade-in, looks to me like pretty much the same depreciation percentage as the SS.

wouldn't say that, but I understand what your getting at. All cars are subject to depriciation. BMW's are chaep as hell compared to new also. Almost got a 3series certifed one from a BMW dealer for 24k with only 12,000 miles on it. new the tag said 36k. it was a 2006.

You are being too kind. Buying a new car is not an investment at all, it is an outright expense. Just like a hair cut-not an investment, unless you end up getting laid as a result. Not to be confused with getting F***ed as a result of buying a new car.

Ss

Well.... My '09 has been on the AutoTrader a couple weeks now...

I'm asking $ 18,750 (12k miles/auto/loaded)... There are only 2 others at this time: one is asking $ 22k and the other $ 20k... (dealers)... I will negotiate, of course...

I've actually had a few good "nibbles"... Waiting for the bite...

hate to let it go, but don't have the room for the SS, the Harley, and the Vette...

Thanks for posting this because now it gives me an idea of what dealers are giving people for SS's with those miles. I am shopping around and they are asking 17-18k with 30,000 miles on it and then others are asking 16k with 20,000 miles so now I know an idea of what they are actually giving people for them.

Sarge I saw yours online, but it is a bit far away.

Actually, I thinkthe price is holding pretty good. Last year I was quoted 14K so your offer isn't bad. What sucks, the dealer will turn around and stick it up for 18 to 20

you should see how much mercedes & land rovers drop like a rock in value. they are also both horrible cars when it comes to reliability. i work for an exteneded warranty company - i have 1st hand knowledge on them. i do very few claims on the hhr & cobalt. mostly just control arm bushings & struts.
