K&N SS air intake. Does it do anything?

I've had my K&N intake on for a few months now, but I honestly don't feel like its doing anything. I don't think anything has changed with either HP or sound. It's just another plastic pipe. Is if worth having it? Any car experts know if this intake does anything for our rides? Or is it just a placebo?

It really does work...

Even on a stock SS, it is providing better airflow, & causing the LTFTs to move
closer to zero.
It is good for an 8 HP increase also, on a stock tune.
It doesn't 'disturb' the airflow, like other aftermarket intakes.

It is one of the few aftermarket parts that you need, when moving
forward with a better 'tune', to unleash more power.

It's the only aftermarket part on my engine.
Last time out at the track I went 12.39 , with a 1.78 60' foot time...

It will make more of a difference if you tune the engine. I noticed a marked improvement when I installed it. I was sceptical when I saw how much it is like the stock one. Only took a short spin around the block, the gut the second cat MOD, helped about the same. Thanks 2005.......

No tune needed when with the install of a K&N intake system,
on a stock HHR SS.

In fact, it kind of 'provides' it's own 'tune'...

The stock 'tune' runs about 4% to 8% rich. [ LTFTs = -4 to -8 ]
After install of the K&N intake system. [ LTFTs = alot closer to 0 , yes, zero ]

This is because the K&N intake system is working...
It is providing more airflow...
