Latest prognosis for the HHR SS?

I'm a noob here...ran some searches and concluded that the HHR will be around for at least the 2011 model year, and maybe the 2012. I'm really interested in the SS model, though, but the posts I read on its future were pretty dated.

Does it look like the SS model will continue into the 2011 offerings?

My current lease (CX-9) expires next year and I really want an HHR SS, but maybe I need to cut my lease short if the SS will be discontinued this summer.

What say the experts?

2010 and you can find an unmodded, used HHR SS for really great prices.

Welcome to the group!!

Not sure where you're seeing 2011 or possibly 2012. The Orlando is due out in the fall for 2011 model year and is set to replace the HHR. Drastically different look and haven't heard any rumors of a sporty versions coming.

If you're looking for new, you may have to hurry, otherwise you could probably get a good deal on a used SS. There are a few different threads here that discuss changes between MY 08/09/10 SS that you may want to search for.

I agree!! This was the first test-drive car I drove in which I was so hooked on it right away! The looks and written reviews brought me in... the test drive sold me on the spot!

Me too I did not care one way or the other for the HHR. It was ok but not a must have.

I drove the SS and my first statment was I could really could get used to this!

The Test drive sold me not the look. Today I am one very happy SS owner.

Ditto, we looked and looked before we bought our SS.. the dealer kept saying he was getting one and I'm glad we held out... the looks of the regular HHR got us intrested(not impressed) but the look and drive of the SS sold us hands down. plus for a young family with a 2 year old, we look pretty good pulling into the playground amongst the soccer mom vans and over-stuffed urban assult vehicles.

Read about the HHR SS and researched it, drove it, bought it. Now I'm just waiting for this winter weather and snow everyday to let up here in the North East. I'm going crazy, can't wait for spring. As was said to me, Drive it and you'll buy it, no truer words spoken. I believe it will be one of the collector cars of the future.
