Looking at an '08 SS

Hello to all. I'm new here. I joined because I've been on the hunt for an HHR SS, and I've been reading a lot of posts on here. I've learned a lot.

I have a specific question about a particular SS for sale near me in Ohio. It's a black '08 automatic with a moon roof and 28,814 miles. I would post a link, but I'm not sure if I'm allowed. It shows a clean auto check, but my concern is that it lists three owners. It was sold and owned in Michigan, and then it was sold at auction to the dealer in Ohio. Am I allowed to post any links to the sale or auto check?

Thanks for any opinions.

welcome toolman. the only thing i can see is that the original owner could not keep up the payments. that could explain the auction if the carfax is clean. @16,500,just for peace of mind, get an extended warranty. test drive it and get it scanned. also get it reflashed with updates from the dealer.

Yes, I was definitely planning on an extended warranty. I'd prefer factory if available, but I'll have to see what my options are on that. I have read a lot on here about various problems with the turbos.

What is getting it scanned? Will a dealer reflash it if I just bring it in or does there have to be some type of problem first?

Welcome Toolman, nice choice in going with a SS auto, less problems. If the car is from Michigan check under the inside part of the doors (at the bottom drain hole area), to make sure there isn't any bubbling or rust starting. These cars have this problem unfortunetly due to salty streets in the winter.

I paid $17500 for mine a lil more than a year ago, its an 08 and had 23,000 on it when I bought it. Only thing I have had happen to mine was had to have the wastegate actuator replaced back in Oct. Has been an awesome car otherwise and I have put over 20K miles on it since Dec of 2010.
