Low tire air
I am not gonna call you guys Larry, Moe, and Curley, but there's 3 of you. I was entertained, and kind of left wondering what we were talking about... LOL.
There probably IS something to it, but what the heck. My dash lights up anyway to tell me...
Next thing you'll say is that idiot light is for idiots... point conceded.

No, idiots invented idiot lights!
Now think about it , the light comes on , low oil, then the overheating light, comes on , usually just a few seconds before the engine expires!
that being said , most don’t do much in the preventative maintenance department.
Most don’t check their tire pressure, coolant, wash fluid , engine oil.
It used to be a Saturday morning ritual, then a wash and polish.
Then off to a drive in movie and maybe a drag race, then the submarine races!

Blue I think that's a little exaggerated.
Auto designers installed them, I don't think their dumb.
Yes I agree that the threshold of the sensors should be made wider so you would have time at least pull over before damage is done.
People who are lucky enough to drive a car in a straight line on the road need them. Why ? Because they wouldn't know what the numbers on a gauge ment or cared.
But then again look into gauges used in racing, not only are they numerical , but some are made with warning lights built into them. If there not, "idiot" lights are installed next to them.

I agree, yes sensors are calibrated on the low side. They still are a warning light though.
Maybe, just maybe, it was planned obsolescence on the part of the manufacturer ? Engine failure = new parts sold.
