LS Windshield wiper...paint scratch....detailing tips all in one!!
Beware when washing the SS, do not lift the LS wiper as it comes in contact with the base of the hood, ever so slightly, to where there is a slight spot on the hood edge without any paint as a result of this
What is Mr. Anal to do????????????????
It seems it could have been engineered to be another degree or fraction of an inch higher....
Make sure when you wash your SS you clean inside the wheels as your last step, as there is no and I repeat no excuse not to do so, these wheels are similar to the SSR wheels in where you can get your hand in there and wipe out the brake dust with no problem.
The SS is wiped down, in the garage and ready for its next outing...

if you have to lift the wiper for whatever reason, just keep a small piece of foam rubber or other soft substance in the door panel, so that you can place it between the wiper and edge of the hood, just be careful.
Tell us about what you ordered, and if you any detailing questions, will try to help the best that I can. There are also a number of web sites that can provide excellent info on detailing your SS.

I knew I forgot something.......Hood Alert!!!!
In another thread someone had mentioned how thin the metal on the HHR is on the roof. Well most of you may know but for those who don't, do not and I repeat, DO NOT put undo pressure on the hood when washing, drying, or polishing etc., by hand or machine. This hood is similar to the SSR in design, has a very very soft spot towards the center of the hood, that covers a wide enough area. Use enough pressure to do what you have to, but be aware, that the hood will depress when you apply to much pressure. Of course it will rebound, but you don't want to cause any undo stress to this very sensitive area.
Thanks Snoopy for the tip, will have to do a search, or if you have any other info, will be appreciated.
It kind of reminds me of the scale plastics models and painting the pieces while they are still attached to the parts "tree" and then popping them off to build the model.
