New to this forum, Question

Just picked up a 08 ss - never had a turbo car before --Am considering performance upgrades ,but nothing too crazy as I will be driving it a lot .
Any recommendations for a cold air intake --Is there really any noticeable differnce from stock ? Thinking about a retune & exhaust upgrade - Any suggestions , ideas would be appreciated .

Welcome.
Adding a cold air aftermarket system won't gain you anything. The stock SS airbox is a pretty good design. Besides, it's already a true cold air system. Some of the aftermarket ones are actually a step backwards as they can be less like a cold air and let in warm underhood air.
AND. There have been several members over the years that tried an aftermarket system but then would throw codes or CEL's.
Stick with the stock setup unless you're planning some serious engine mods

If you think about staying stock but adding a K&N air filter, just beware. Do NOT over oil those. Just a small bit of oil sneaking by and ending up on the MAF sensor will give you problems.

Thanks for the response. After looking at the stock air intake , I would have to agree with an after market one wouldn’t really wouldn’t make much difference

I bought my '08 with 12,000 KM, so it was practically new. Performance was noticeably improved by a full intake and intercooler cleaning. Also run premium fuel: Much better performance and mileage.

I've considered an ECU tune, and perhaps an add on rear stabilizer, but the little beast already zips along satisfactorily, and handles the twisty bits rather well.

Enjoy your sleeper!

I've got to chime in on this one. OldBlue is absolutely right! Rear bar does make ALL the difference.
I got the rear antisway bar from OTTP (1.25") and it changed the WHOLE feel when cornering.

Nice and tight, almost as good as my old Miata

Check our supporting vendor TurboTech Racing. I am real happy with their rear swaybar!
