Welcome
A good downpipe and a tune with it would be good for an extra 30-50 hp.

I'm still stock as far as a downpipe. Several aftermarket ones out there. Maybe someone who has changed one will post up their opinions.
As far as a tune. Again several companies out there that offer a performance tune. I have the original GM Stage 1 upgrade.tune 290hp. 315 tq.
But, it is outdated and has to be dealer installed. Hard to find a dealer that will do it anymore so aftermarket is your best choice for a tune.

Save your money with that K&N.
Your stock one is just fine. It's a cold intake system, not like the K&N.
If you want you could just do a replacement K&N filter in your stock air box, but really just use a AC Delco stock filter and you'll be fine.
A person on this forum (forget his name) also says to gut the second cat out. It won't throw any codes.
I have a Trifecta tune, when its on I get 24-25 lbs of boost compared to stock 14-15 lbs.
The tune bumps you up to about 290 hp compared to the stock 250 auto or 260 standard trans..
I'm sure the fuel and timing maps are changed to make this type of improvement.

If you want to.
On my SS I made my own pipe that goes from turbo to inter cooler and have had no problems.
Others see no reason because the stock pipes are ample.
Don't over think the wheel.
Your not going to make the thing runs 9's in the quarter.
