Interesting point about the launch control feature in that article. It says that launch control is only available on the automatic models, I thought it would have been on both but it shows how much I know.

very nice read.

I am so close to just going out and ordering one. I told myself I would wait until the first of the year before I go real car shopping...

I just haven't driven stick since I first got my license.

Driving a standard trans is like riding a bike, and a few other things, you never forget how.

I think the pro’s of the standard (LSD/260hp) outweigh the con’s (city shifting). Also the autos lack of steep grade retard (weird up shift thing). So don’t let fear stand in your way, just order it, (easy for me to say with your money).

I can`t wait to get to drive one of these, stick or auto,(and I too haven`t driven a stick for over 20yrs).
I did like the info on the launch control, and 235hp is plenty in my book, I just want a little something extra (if needed) at the stop light, and pep on demand on the highway.

I didn't read where it said it was "only" available w/ the auto. I find this interesting being EVERY other review says it is for the stick.

The autos will have Traction Control, just like the current ones. It just drops some throttle if wheelspin is detected.

The Launch Control is on the manuals. I think it just limits RPMs to 4000 with the clutch in. I am waiting for my dealer GM to call when they get an SS in. I've already gotten the OK to scan and get the calibration with HP Tuners.

BTW, I've already implemented Launch Control and No Lift Shift on my 2.4 LE5. Interesting, but the jury is still out. I still think they are more of an abuse prevention and CYA on warranty issues, though.
