Hi, just thought I'd introduce myself. HHR SS is on my (very) short list to replace my aging DD. So far, it seems to be delivering the goods, and local dealers are just now starting to get them in, and I'm looking forward to trying one out. If one more person tells me to get a Mazdaspeed 3, I'm going to go postal. I haul stuff around occasionally, and would love to have an excuse to get rid of my 16 MPG van.

I tried searching, but was unable to come up with a figure for length of the cargo bay with the rear seat down, give or take a few inches for front seat position.

Thanks.

Size: 5.6 KB to the site!!! Let us know if you decide on an SS. If you do be sure to check out the 2nd Annual HHR Cedar Point Meet that ends with a cruise to Cleveland to visit the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Thanks, fellows. Nice to see some other Midwesterners. The meet sounds pretty nice. Hopefully I'll have an SS by then. My GTO is still under construction, so I'm stuck driving a 97 Probe if I don't want to subsidize OPEC.

Welcome!

from a older post by Snoopy, might help;

42 inches wide side panel to side panel (not counting little outward projections for the floor panel).
64 inches long from middle of closed lift gate to a point touching the rear of the drivers seat.
If it matters the lift gate opening is smaller in width that the width of the floor....if I remember correctly, something like 38 inches.

I've still got quite a few friends over there, but like any car board, it gets somewhat populated with jerks and burger flippers after the price of used cars drops low enough. Glad you're still driving a fast car.
Cheers

Thanks. That's very helpful. Besides hauling stuff, its good to know I can curl up and sleep back there if need be.
