Newbie needs help 2.0 turbo exhaust
Hi all- Got a 2008 2.0 turbo that the previous owner apparently butchered. Can't find a cat converter, stainless pipe welded in to replace resonator (weld has now broken and car is undriveable due to noise level and fumes) and small section of stainless welded in front of flange on what I believe is a downpipe.
First question: Does one of you have a picture of what a stock exhaust set-up is supposed to look like? Even if it's an advertisement at least it'll tell me what this idiot did to the exhaust.
Second: is the converter always located in the downpipe section on the 2.0 turbo? It isn't anywhere else on this car.
Third: Least expensive option to replace resonator pipe and converter pipe?
Thank you in advance for any help.

OB, it's not showing up in classifieds or inactive, very strange. But I did find it in Dave's posts. https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/clas...s-parts-56996/
EDIT: Now it's showing up again.

Wow. Thanks for all the help. That tells me the previous owner must have changed the downpipe. Mine has some kind of plate bolted over an extra output that doesn't make any sense. And there is no expanded area that would indicate a cat. I don't understand how the computer tolerates the readings without a cat. First order of business is where to find the resonator pipe section. Don't need entire cat back exhaust. Just first pipe with resonator. Any ideas?

If the previous owner did a cat delete, they most likely did a computer "tune" to make it work with that catless exhaust setup.
Now, if you go back with a cat system, you may have to retune back to a stock type tune.
Maybe some of our tune smart members here can help you out with this.
One of the downfalls of buying a modern day used car that's been modded. Not knowing exactly what's been done to it.
