No GMS on 09 SS

I have 2 cars I am thinking about 09 HHR SS and the 09 Vibe GT. The new employee pricing is going on now. The 09 Vibe is on it and the 09 SS is not. I really rather have the SS but 2 things against it is , No discount & premium fuel. I wonder if I hold out a little longer it would be worth the wait to get the horse power advantage

My thoughts..........pricing is set by the buyer, not the dealer. Sure they may tell you no, but if you want to buy the 09 SS at employee pricing tell the salesman. Worse he can say is no and you walk out, if he wants to make a sale he will say yes. Premium fuel has been discussed a lot here, it's recommended, but I think there are plenty of posts to show the SS runs fine on 87.....

If it were me, I would hold out for the SS. You will get more room, and better performance. It's worth the money you will pay (employee pricing is not a reason to buy, or not buy a vehicle). I bought my SS in May, and it is truly the first car I am really in love with. I have owned lots of Chevys and this one is great. As far as the gas, premium is recommended, but not mandatory. You will get better performance out of premium gas, but mine runs just fine on regular. I’ll put mid grade in, but my wife always puts in regular. We do a lot of highway driving and we usually get 31 to 32 MPG on the highway. It is less in town (but still really good), but still way better than my 97 Suburban with its 454.

Umm, according to GM's site, the 09SS is included in the employee pricing. Wonder what's up with your dealer?

Agree the SS is under emplyee pricing. Also you do not have to run premium. You will lose about 20 Hp with out it but regular gas will work fine.

I have driven both cars and thre Vibe is a nice Toyota. It is under powered and not as room as the SS. I also feel the SS has a much better ride.

I have been a die hard Pontiac guy for years and still have two in the Garage. But I am now back to Chevy as the SS is one of the bes bargins on the market. Discount or not.

My local dealer has a 09 SS which I checked out and the sticker was discounted @ $2200 because of the employee pricing. $26600 to $24400.

I have an 08 SS and my wife has an 07 Vibe (not GT). The Vibe is a very reliable car and the gas mileage is great. The SS is better bang for the performance buck, but has a much stiffer suspension and not quite as livable day to day. SS has a tad more room (5 extra cu ft in back) and more std options. The Vibe has more headroom and is a little wider (I'm 6'3" 230lbs) and like the Vibe for longer boring drives.....however if the mrs and I are heading out to someone's house or for a night out.....the SS is the only way to go.......depends what you want it for.

The SS is a very livable day to day vehicle. Mine has a much better ride than my Comp G GTP.

Also compared to my ZQ8 suspension on my Sonoma it is a down right Cadillac.
