no, I'm NOT going to do it

Sunday I was wandering around a used car lot, and came upon a 2008 Pontiac G8 in Ignition Orange. When I was searching for a new car back in 2008, it came down to the HHR SS and the Pontiac G8. The deciding factor was that the dealers were selling the G8s at the time for $3-$5K over the MSRP, so I said screw you and bought the SS instead.

So now I come upon the EXACT G8 I wanted, and it has 14K miles and is listed at $24K.

But I'm not going to cave in and buy this G8. I like my SS too much, and it is paid off. Even if I got $12K for my SS (57K miles), I'd still have to fork over an extra $12K for the Pontiac. Granted, I'd expect to negotiate that price down, but still I'd have to outlay quite a bit of money for a car that is just as old, albeit with significantly less miles on it.

I was in the exact same boat but I was going to get a Stryker Blue GT. I found my HHR and it was to good of a deal to pass up so I have the SS instead.

It's hard to contemplate buying a V8 with gas prices going through the roof, which is what makes the SS such a bargain. My SS would probably get a good 5-6 MPG better than the G8 GT.

It's funny how a few of us came to possess an SS after wanting to buy a G8. I was in the same boat and found the SS. The rest of course is history.

I bought my first HHR from that dealership. Hey i would jump on that if it was a V8 but i wouldn't trade the SS.
