Now i'm mad!
A few years ago I owned a nice 1986 Monte Carlo for a spare car. We were living in an apartment complex for 6months, inbetween looking for a house. Well, one of my nephews who came over to visit said this teen kid had just ran on the hood of my car, over the top and down the trunk of the car, so I immediately went to the balcony and had him point the kid out. After getting some shoes on I went out to confront the kid(s) and they took off running, luckily my nephew knew they lived in the apartment complex next door.
I took a ride over there and when the kid saw me he ran into a house. So I knocked on the door and the lady of the house asked what I needed and I proceeded to tell her what the boy who ran into her house had did. I told her that I thought I would tell her before I called the cops to file a complaint. The women told her son to come to the door and asked if it was him and I said yes. She then began to beat the living snot out of the kid, yelling at him saying how she didn"t need trouble from him or the police, etc. etc.
I'm talking a good beat down, in front of me and the kid was pleading with her to stop, etc.
She then made the kid come to the door and apologize to my face and say he would never even come around my car any more. After the kid left the door and went back into the house, she turned and looked at me and apologized and I told her that I wouldn't call the police, that I thought she punished him good enough (plus I had checked my car over and there were no dents on the car before heading over).
Now in my experience these days, I would say the majority of people would not have punished there kid at all, besides maybe a verbal warning and I would have had to call the cops. The reason the majority of these young people today are the way they are is due to no discipline when young or moral guidence. The parents are to afraid of what will happen to them if they are seen punishing there kids and both parents have to work today to make a living, they aren't home to watch there kids.
I have nieces and nephews that never get punished and ones that do, you can definitely see which kids are better behaved, more polite and listen.
I know this is a little of subject of the original post, but just wanted to rant myself about why I think young adults act the way they do today.

Thanks to all the replies!
Yes this country is going to hell in a hand-basket, the american in me says it will get better, the realist is stockpiling "real money"... tobacco, whiskey, coffee, and medicine! JK or am I seriously... The damage to the SS is slight, and I can live with it until a paint job in a year or two. I am just pissed that some people are so stupid, he knew I knew that he hit the car, especially since my son and I just got back from washing it..... we did confront him and he denied it up and down, right after telling me it was hard to pull into the driveway. the scene was like walking into the kitchen and a small child has just spilled a gallon of milk down the AC vent and then stands there and says to you "what happened?"
I won't take the issue up with the neighbor anymore... once I found out how he is, I just assume not to deal with him again... people can really suck

When I first got my SS Panel I lived in a townhouse/condo type community. From previous experience with A**holes damaging my vehicles, I knew I had to block parking spaces and move vehicles around every day to park the SS Panel between my boat and the winter car. What a pain in the butt!....but it had to be done to protect my new baby! That was the decision maker to get the hell out of there. I was basicly forced to move to protect my possessions.
It seems that wherever people have to share the same space, we always experience A++holes being inconsiderate of others in the same space. Did their momas not raise them right...or do they not have mental capacity to think beyond their own noses...or both??
You gotta believe in that Karma thing...what goes around comes back around. Thats the only thing that keeps me from going Postal on some people! That and the fact I don't want to go to jail for revenge

In general I'm seeing that people just don't care anymore..... to selfish and wrapped up in their own world to care about anyone else's property or well being. Also, all "roll models" these days seem to get away with everything, deny everything, so most people will act the same way.....
While revenge is the first thing that pops into mind and I joke about it a lot (not finding the bodies of those that call my car a PT.... Strangling kids for throwing walnuts.....etc.) I would never go that route. All revenge would do is lower you to their level and I'd rather not go there myself.
Sorry to hear your car got damaged and you have an idiot for a neighbor, but stay cool, you're better than he.
