Official Gas Mileage Thread

I think it would be great if everyone would post their gas mileage on their SS every 1000 miles. I think we should post gas mileage, actual muleage and average speed.

For example:

23.8mpg 1024 miles 32mph

Then if we keep updating it every 1k miles, it will give everyone an idea of how these engines (and peoples driving habits) are doing.

Increase With Premium

At 500 miles last night I was averaging 25.5 with no inter city driving. That was with regular gas. I filled up with premium and have driven about 80 miles. The DIC readings on instant are reading better. When starting from a stop it usually showed 4mpg it now shows low double digets. It is more responsive too but that may be the result of cresting 500 miles as well as the octane increase. I have the dreaded automatic but by necessity.

While I only have a couple hundred miles now, mostly rural roads and short interstate travel, my DIC is reading 30.5 with a 40-something average speed. I've been keeping speeds down and no agressive driving during break-in. This is in a 5-speed SS.

First Fill-up 389 miles and 14.7 gal = 26.5 mpg. Stormy weather and lots more traffic hang-ups than usual. DIC says 25.2 mpg and 38 mph avg, but I re-set it once at about 130 miles. (5 speed).

Follow up to my own msg. Now up to 867 miles avg speed 40 MPH commuting over a mountain pass at pretty good clip most of the time and occasional full boost. Now at 25 MPG. I think if you really tried (kept your speed down, etc) you could get 30 MPG over almost any terrain.

I seem to have settled in at an overall average of 25.5 mpg (DIC and calculated very close). 40 mph speed average for around town and commute. This is at 1650 miles.

Bit early yet for me. But driving around to break it in over the weekend netted 23 mpg through country roads and city traffic over 200 miles. Now that the work week is kicking in, I suspect I'll be over 25 by end of the week. Counting on 28+ in another week or two.

Filled up on 2/20, maybe 5 days since purchase - info panel read 24.5, but from the pump I got 26.8. Been driving 70-85 heading to work. Trying to restrain myself on the pedal punches yet as I break the vehicle in, but man is it fun when you tap it to go by someone....some folks do a double take when this puppy comes screaming past them at 100. Its too easy to get up to a 100 and it just doesnt feel like you are cruising too fast. Fantastic little ride.

I don't think you guys are using your right foot enough. My first 1000 mikes I'm under 21. This last fill-up (1400 miles) I'm keeping off the throttle and I'm up around 23.
